The Evia Silence resort is a mere two and a half hours from Athens international airport, tucked away in the mountains of Greece's beautiful Evia island (Greece's second largest island) overlooking the Porto Buffalo Bay coastline and the crystal clear Evian sea. Their rooms are a comfortable 30 sq meters just 10m from the beach, and include kitchen and cooking essentials (a stove with 4 hotplates, an oven, and a large fridge), private balconies with a vast view of the neighboring sea, air conditioning, and flat-screen televisions. All rooms are designed to provide a calming retreat from the stresses of city life, but the best room of all, is the special yoga room overlooking the sea.
The “Io” Yoga Room is a new hall with a view to both the sea and the mountains and is the crowning jewel of the hotel. It has a fir wood floor and ceiling, painted in ecological paint, in line with ancient Greek techniques. Just a one minute walk from your door to the sea, Evia Silence provides accessible docks for swimming and sun bathing. They also neighbor an array of beautiful trails and small roads that are perfect for anyone looking to jog, trek, or venture into the wilderness of the beautiful mountainside. Useful Information
More Information on the Porto Buffalo Area
According to writers from the ancient times, Buffalo is the location of “Voos Avli”, also known as “Voufalo” or “Voos Kefali”. The area has been linked to the story of Io, the daughter of Inachus, who was a priestess at the temple of Hera in Argos, but also Zeus’ lover. When Hera became aware of her betrayal, she transformed Io into a cow and sent her to Argos Panoptes (a mythical giant with 100 eyes) to guard her, so that she would not meet with Zeus ever again. As an extra measure of security, he tied her to an olive tree at the location of “Voos Avli” (Yard of the Buffalo), now Porto Buffalo. Zeus ordered Hermes to rescue his lover from Argos; Hermes put the guardian to sleep by playing the flute and then killed him, which earned him the name “Argeiphontes”, or “Argos-slayer”. The slaying of Argos took place in the location of “Argyra”, near the present Argyro.
The cost is $1,995 per person for a shared room, 2 people to a room, payable in one installment. This is the price for the one-week all-inclusive, Maya Fiennes "A Journey Through The Chakras" Yoga Retreat in Greece at Evia Silence 29 June - 6 July and includes the room and three delicious specially prepared vegan meals per day, per person.

"Maya Fiennes is a force of nature. Her down to earth and simple approach to yoga is built on many years of study and personal practice. Her teachings are based on the very best techniques for the physical as well as the spiritual side of yoga, unlocking its secrets to create life changing experiences for her students throughout the world. Her methods are based on using the 7 Chakras to identify what blockages her students are experiencing and finding the best yoga practice to address them. Maya believes that our bodies hold the keys to our success and can also set our limitations. Working with the Chakras to decode what our bodies tell us and putting together the answers to unlock our ultimate potential is Maya’s specialty. That is what sits at the heart of her philosophy, her passion, her Yoga for Real Life.”

"After a wonderful eleven days with Maya in London, I simply cannot adequately express the effect Maya’s teaching, her amazing energy and personality have had on my life. Nor can I find the right words to adequately express my gratitude for her choosing to be alive at the same time as me! I have been shaken and stirred and I am so enjoying the cocktail of music and exercise, mantras and study. I am loving the new stronger me and the effect it is having on my nearest and dearest - that is the awesome bit. Thank you so very much for all the loving energy you put into the preparation and delivery of your wonderful, healing, strengthening, awakening, intuitive, exciting teaching. I have learned so much from Maya; I could not have a more inspirational teacher."
