Are We Our Parents? - Mondays With Maya

Hello friends,

In the lead up to the new year, this Monday and every Monday in December we will be setting intentions for the new year. But first, we might need to train our brains to think differently.

Are We Our Parents? - Mondays With Maya

We all know that most of our issues come from our parents, and their issues came from their parents, and so on, but how can we stop this vicious cycle and stop replaying the lives of our parents?

The first thing we need to do is to make the decision. The decision to stop replaying our parent's lives and to move forward with our own lives. So the intention that I have set as I get ready to enter into the new year is to resolve all the issues I may have had from my parents and make sure that I am living my own life and not a life which is the result of their life.

What are Family Constellations?

Family constellations are a form of therapy which is also like a game that can open up the field of consciousness. It's a group process that aims to get rid of any unhappiness or suffering that has been passed down through the generations. The founder, Bert Hellinger, a pretty controversial guy, is a therapist who has worked with families for decades, trying to get people to break free from the binds of family patterns he believes many people unconsciously take on as a way to belong to our families. He does this by encouraging people to accept the factual reality of the past.

I did this recently and it was very worth it. I recommend it to you! Try it and let me know how you get on.

Wishing you a happy December full of love, and remember, you are what you choose to become.
