Kundalini Yoga to Unwind - Mondays with Maya

Sat nam, friends!

As busy women, whether working professionals or mothers chasing after children all day, we have so many things on our plates and it's often extremely hard to get to sleep at night because we just can't seem to unwind. Luckily, Kundalini Yoga can help us in this aspect of our lives too.

Kundalini Yoga to Unwind - Mondays with Maya

To be able to drop everything else that's going on in our busy minds and be ready for sleep, there is a beautiful exercise we can do.

1. Get into a comfortable seated position. Close the right nostril with the right index finger and raise the left hand next to the head, in a mudra bringing the ring finger and thumb together.

2. Close the eyes, drop the chin down a little bit, and breathe just from the left side. This stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system which makes you calm down and go to sleep.

3. Inhale and exhale through the same nostril. Continue for 3 minutes, or 7 minutes and work your way up eventually to 11 minutes.

After doing this exercise, you should feel so chilled, that you'll have an amazing and peaceful sleep. Try it and let me know how you get on!

Lots of love,

Maya x

P.S. Share this post with a friend who you feel can do with a little unwinding!
