Kundalini yoga has a lot of very powerful tools to help you change your life and one of these is something that I swear by; the Kirtan Kriya mantra, "SA TA NA MA". Click on the image below to learn more.
The Most Powerful Mantra: "SA TA NA MA" - Mondays with Maya
The literal meaning of this mantra is - SA: Infinity, TA: Life, NA: Death, MA: Rebirth. This mantra translates to shedding the old you, and becoming who you were meant to be; your true self. It's also known to calm you down and increase serotonin so it's perfect for anyone with stress, anxiety, and/or depression. Studies conducted on the effect of this mantra showed considerable positive brain activity and improvement on those with Alzheimer's, chronic insomnia, and other diseases.

Kirtan means song and Kriya means action, so the "SA TA NA MA" mantra has a specific exercise that goes along with it to get the maximum benefit. Here's how you do it:
- Find a comfortable seated position with your hands resting on your knees, palms facing upward.
- Keep your spine straight, close your eyes, and take deep breaths.
- Starting with the first syllable (SA), bring the index finger of each hand to touch the thumb. As you progress through each consecutive syllable, change the fingers that meet the thumb: (SA = index finger, TA = middle finger, NA = ring finger, MA = little finger). Repeat this pattern.
- Continue the chanting and finger movements for as long as it feels comfortable. You can start with 1, 3, or 7 minutes and gradually work your way up to 12 or even 30 minutes for maximum benefit.
This is a Kriya mantra that you want in your life. Try it for a while, form a habit, and let me know how you feel after. It changed my life and I'm sure it will yours.
